Have you ever felt pushed aside? Have you ever felt like a person you think very highly of has been indifferent towards you? Well this past week, I felt that way, not really sure why, but it was very real. My parents were over seas ministering and are very busy working for the Lord. I was missing them and so while they were in Russia, I sent my Father an e-mail, letting him know how I felt. It was at this point I told him “I still need my Dad”…As soon as I typed those worthds I sat back in my chair and began to cry. His e-mail back to me the next day was very interesting. He said he was feeling the same thing, he had wondered why his son had not contacted him and was feeling bad himself. His response back…”I still need my son”. As I sat there in my chair and began to think about our relationship with God. How many times do we feel pushed aside, we wonder if God hears us or even cares about us. Sometimes we think God is indifferent and we are in this all alone. But the Bible tells us that our Lord is touched by the feelings of our infirmities and was in all points tempted like we are…He feels everything we feel, he experiences everything we do. So if you are reading this today and are feeling that you feel pushed aside…Your Father in Heaven is feeling the same thing…And if you will cry out to him Father I still need you…He will say back to you…Son or Daughter I still need you.

This past Sunday I was on my way to church when my middle son Jared, started asking me questions. Now I know when we get into these dialogues that there is one question that is always on the way. It is the “why” question. It doesnt matter the conversation or the topic there will come a why question, and sometimes i can answer and sometimes I cannot. Some times I feel really smart and can answer these questions with some ease, sometimes I feel really spiritual and answer these questions with, God made it or God did it, sometimes I am stumped and my only answer is just because. Well as I said we were on our way to church and this random question came. “Daddy, if you had a gun and you saw a Gardner snake, would you shoot it”? I said no Jared, Gardner snakes are good, and they help us. This question was really just a question to get into what he really wanted to know that morning as he switched gears. “Can a boa constrictor kill a monkey”? Well yes Jared a boa constrictor could kill a monkey, it would be hard to catch it, but if it was sleeping and the boa caught it i guess it could kill it. “Well could it get away”? Well not once it has been caught it couldnt get away. “Well if it was in a circle could the monkey jump out of it”? Well yes a monkey could jump out of it if it was in a circle. Now comes the loaded question…”Why do monkeys live in a jungle”? I can see his brain spinning, there are things there that can hurt the monkey so why would it want to live there. Now I am on my way to church and am feeling spiritual, so I answer the question, because that is where God made them to live, that is where he wanted them to live. Jared still isnt done, because his Pappy has told him stories about going to the jungle on missionary trips, so he asks this final question…”Why did Pappy go to the jungle”? My response…Because Pappy’s a monkey.
Jared of course said no he isnt, but that leads me to the question of Why would God choose to love us? What made us so special? Why did He make us his highest point in creation and why did He choose to form us with his own hands and make us in His image? We didnt deserve it, and we make mistakes and we do things that dont please him, and we turn our backs on him. He still chooses love us, Job asked the question, what is man that you even would want to visit him, David asked what is man that you are mindful of him. And today we still dont have the answer…I can only say Just Because. I cant figure it out, I cant fathom it, but His word tells me he does and that’s all that matters.
And you today as you are reading this Blog, remember I love Him, Because He first loved Me. Just Because

In the journey of life you will have moments that are great, fun, enjoyable, and you will have moments that are bad, haunting and some even downright awful. All of these moments though bring spice to life. Without the bad, we wouldnt appreciate the good, and without the good we would feel hopeless. The journey northward is not going to be without ups and downs, it will have hardship and it will have times when we feel like giving in, but those moments will only serve to help us appreciate when God comes through, and that we know will come to pass. It is during this journey that we will need to press toward the mark, seek until we find, ask until were answered, and knock until the door is opened unto us. Because God will come through for us if we never quit the journey.

Well this is my first blog, I wasnt sure what I wanted to write about until a few days ago, when I was praying in our living room, and sometimes my 5 year old boy comes with me. Sometimes he watches me pray, sometimes he falls asleep listening to me, but this particular night it was different. I was praying for a while when I noticed someone whispering beside me, so I began to listen to this whisper. As I listened I heard him say, “God I always want to serve you…God, I will do anything you want me to do…God, I will go anywhere you want me to go.” Then he said, ”and God, I love people, but most of all I love you.” It was then the words of Jesus became so clear. Matt 18:4
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child , the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
KJV
If only we could learn to be so sincere in our prayers.
